My EFT Journey

At first, I found the whole idea quite implausible. EFT, or ‘Tapping’ came across as an almost ‘miraculous’ cure, claiming to bring extraordinarily rapid resolution to just about any form of emotional or physical pain. Surely nothing works that well, I thought - until I tried it. I was blown away by the results. Life-long anxieties faded from my consciousness. Within two or three weeks I had cleared deep-rooted issues which I thought would accompany me for ever.
I studied Emotional Freedom Technique with a passion. The more I practised this revolutionary method, the more obstructions on my personal path to liberation fell away, never to return.
'Tapping' is such a simple method, and yet so very effective. If you are seriously looking for healing, I recommend EFT as an absolute ‘must try’.

So, what’s it all about?

The healing concepts behind this modality have been in practice in Eastern medicine for over 5,000 years. EFT works holistically on our body’s energy meridian system which channels our life-force energy, or Chi.

Think of a beautiful river which has had a load of junk thrown in it at some point. Some heavy stuff, some lighter. As the water flows, the rubbish gets bundled up and creates a blockage. The flow is disrupted and is forced into finding alternative routes. But the junk remains and the natural course is altered, leaving scars on the landscape. So, it is with us. Negative experiences in our past, if left unchecked, inevitably develop into emotional and/or physical pain. By clearing our meridian ‘rivers’, our energies are freed up and balance is regained.

By sending an electrical current (any physical pressure creates an electric current), tapping sends a signal to the amygdala in the brain. Aiming to keep us safe, by referring to stored memories the amygdala often makes us think we are in danger when we’re actually not. It sends more oxygen to our arms and legs to prepare for a fight, fright or freeze response, stealing it from the brain, and making it difficult to think clearly. Tapping turns off this response, and the release of stress hormones is greatly lowered.

Continuing to tap, we replace the negatives with positives, choosing our route forward, and the life force flows freely once more.
